F.A.Q. stands for Frequently Asked Questions. So if you have a question, perhaps you can find the answer right here!
Why are the prices for E-books and patterns different here then on Etsy?
That’s because of European tax laws. If a shop reaches a certain yearly treshhold of digital goods sold to another country in the EU, they will need to charge and pay the taxes to the buyers country. If a shop doesn’t reach that yearly treshhold, they will need to charge and pay the taxes in their own country (in Europe). Because Etsy is so huge, with numerous different sellers of both digital and physical items, they reach that treshhold easily. So that means that the tax (BTW, VAT etc) will be added according to your country. That means, the price of the products can be a bit higher if you purchase my digital products in my Etsy shop.
If you purchase here on my own website, you will see the price with the Dutch BTW (Value Added Tax) already included. So there won’t be taxes added from your own (European) country.
I know this can be a little confusing, but I hope it’s a bit more clear now!
What is 'Worbla'? And where do I get it?
Worbla is a thermoplastic material that is used often to create cosplay armors and props. It is made in Germany and here you can see where you can get it in your country. Of course you can find it on Amazon too. Here’s some affiliate links to the material and some helpful tools!
There’s different types of Worbla that all have a different colour. They also have different characteristiques which makes them useful for many techniques!
If you want to learn more about to make details using Worbla, then be sure to read my book that I wrote especially about that subject!
How did you make 'X' cosplay? Or how can I make 'X' cosplay?
However I love to help, it got impossible to answer all those questions individually. It would take away so much of my time that I wouldn’t be able to create costumes and tutorials for you guys anymore!
Luckily I have written tutorial E-books about all of my costumes so you can always find a detailed description with lots of photos about every piece of my cosplays. You can find the books here. And if I made digital patterns to go with it, you can find those over here.
And if you want to get the information for free, I suggest you check out my social media feeds like Instagram for example or my Youtube channel that has lots and lots of absolutely free tutorials for you!
Do you take cosplay commissions for private people?
Unfortunately no. I don’t have time to make more costumes and props. Of course you are always free to inquire about a commission through info@pretzl.nl ! Sometimes, when I’m really inspired by an idea or I actually have some time, I could take on a commission. But please don’t be sad when I say no. If you decide to ask me, please include as many details as you can in the inquiry. Info I need are: what do you want? What are your sizes? When do you need it? How are you going to wear it (for shoots or for conventions)? What is your budget (very important! Because handmade work is VERY expensive)? Where do you live (important to check delivery times and options)? Also, please allow me some time to think about it and calculate the costs. Again, please consider, a commission will be very expensive. If you can’t afford to spend a lot of money, please don’t ask for a commission. That prevents dissapointments.
I do take commissions for cosplay designs, custom hoodies, dresses, hats and onesies! If you want a design like these, especially made for you, please send me a message at info@pretzl.nl ! Be sure to include as many details as you can and I will give you a quote! Please know that I always want to use the designs in my portfolio. So they will be public at some time. Then, it’s also possible for other cosplays to create this design and bring it to life. Of course, I am OK with keeping the design under wraps for a while so you can create the cosplay first, without other people seeing the design. We can of course talk about all of this!
Do you take cosplay commissions for companies?
I might! It all really depends on the project (do I feel confident to do it? Do I master the materials that I need for this project? Can I meet the deadlines? Does this feel like my style of work?).
I don’t have a lot of spare time so I have to be very selective about accepting commissions. Of course you are always free to inquire about a commission through info@pretzl.nl !
